Balancing Act

In life we have to balance so many things, it can be so hard to manage it all at times. Some of the balls that we balance are made of glass, some of stone, some of plastic. Sometimes we have to drop a few of the more sturdy balls so that we don't lose grip on the delicate, breakable ones. Our shoulders strain under the weight of all that we balance, sometimes to the point that we have to just let it all go, and all the balls come crashing down. A fresh start. And sometimes there might even be a little critter or creature who attempts to throw us off, to knock us off our balance and send some of the balls crashing. This is the balancing act of life! Its a crazy thing but hey, isn't it just wonderful to be alive and have anything to balance in the first place? When times get tough and there seems to be too much to handle, too much weight, too much to balance, I always try to reflect on the miraculousness of even just being here, and it makes it all a little more bearable. A little easier to balance. And sometimes, you realize there are balls you've been balancing that weren't serving you in the first place, and you just have to let them go.
