Students Ages 12-18! This class is for students with an aptitude and love for art who want to gain the skills to take their work to the next level.  This class will combine technical exercises and theory, with drawing, painting and sculpture projects that span multiple classes, and allow students to use their own creative voice while learning and applying new techniques and methods.   Creativity is encouraged and students will be armed with the tools to make awesome works of art across many different media and styles, all while cultivating their own unique creative voice.

Materials List:

Every student will need a basic drawing kit plus a couple other items:

A Sketchbook 8x10 or 9x12, the higher quality paper the better.
Sketching pencil set (most pencil sets will give a good range like 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, but they'll be fine as long as they have at least an HB and a 6B)
Kneadable Eraser
Regular Rubber Eraser
Pencil Sharpener
Paper Blending Stump

Additional materials requirements will arise for students in this program as we start new projects and explore new mediums.

Paints and brushes will be provided for this program, but students may choose to use their own paints and brushes if they prefer, or if they want access to different colours.

Optional Items: (these items aren’t required but if students want to have a broader range of possibilities in their drawings they can add these items to their kit)

Acrylic paint colours
Acrylic Paintbrush Brush kit (soft synthetic or semi-stiff are ideal, not hog bristle)
