Instructor: Ricky Schaede
Location: Ricky Schaede Art Studio, 5 First Street Unit 3A, Orangeville Ontario L9W 1E1
Students Ages 12-18! This class is for students with an aptitude and love for art who want to gain the skills to take their work to the next level. This class will combine technical exercises and theory, with drawing, painting and sculpture projects that span multiple classes, and allow students to use their own creative voice while learning and applying new techniques and methods. Creativity is encouraged and students will be armed with the tools to make awesome works of art across many different media and styles, all while cultivating their own unique creative voice.
Every student will need a basic drawing kit plus a couple other items:
A Sketchbook 8x10 or 9x12, the higher quality paper the better.
Sketching pencil set (most pencil sets will give a good range like 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, but they'll be fine as long as they have at least an HB and a 6B)
Regular Rubber Eraser
Paper Blending Stump
Students will be responsible for bringing 1 Canvas, in a size of their choosing. We will decide our canvas sizes during the first class so please wait to buy the canvas until class 2. I will have canvases for sale here at my shop that students can purchase before or after class!
Paints and brushes will be provided for this program, but students may choose to use their own paints and brushes if they prefer, or if they want access to different colours.
*Depending on how quickly we finish our painting, students may also need a block of air dry modelling clay, but please stay tuned. We may end up spending longer on our painting and focusing more on drawing/painting instead.
Optional Items: (these items aren’t required but if students want to have a broader range of possibilities in their drawings they can add these items to their kit)
Acrylic paint colours
Brush kit (soft synthetic or semi-stiff are ideal, not hog bristle)
