The Many Faces of the Boy in the Jar
Say hello to the boy in the jar,
For he is huddled and shivering and truly bizarre.
I have not seen him but for through rounded glass,
Where shape and colour do warp, and sound does not pass.
Like the most monstrous of serpents his faces emerge,
One distant, one present, one suffering scourge.
But which one is he?
Through the glow and the glass I’m unable to see
To the face that is free,
Free of his devouring, strangling serpents three.
